Manorville FD Responds to an Apartment Fire in Pine Hills

On Sunday, March 13th, the Manorville FD was activated respond to a reported structure fire @ 15 Pondway way in Pine Hills at 12:12 PM. The Manorville FD members where preparing to be at 2 different events at that time, EPCAL Drag Races and the Center Moriches St. Patrick's Day Parade. Chief Rosario was first on scene and confirmed a working structure fire. Chief Danowski was 2nd due Chief. Engine 5-16-7 was crewed up and ready to respond to the races, but had to detour and respond to the working fire, and was the first engine on scene. Crews quickly stretched the needed hose to reach the fire building. Tanker 5-16-9 was 2nd due and established hydrant connection. Engine 5-16-2 and Truck 5-16-6 where 3rd and 4th due. Crews extinguished the fire, did the necessary overhaul. Brookhaven Fire Marshall was called in to investigate. Mutual aid was provided to Manorville FD by Center Moriches FD for A RIT Team, and Mastic FD stood by at Manorville FD HQ. All units where cleared by 14:58m Hours. Engine 5-16-7 finally made it to EPCAL to provide protection for the drag races.
