On Tuesday, February 23rd at 0413 hours, the Manorville FD was activated to respond to a Motor Vehicle Accident on the Eastbound Long Island Expressway at Exit 70. Assistant Chief Brown was first on scene and reported a Boar's head Delivery Truck was on it's side with 2 person trapped within the trucks cab. Road conditions where horrible with Black Ice everywhere, which is what caused the accident. The 2 trapped persons where able to exit the vehicle with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Department. Engine 5-16-2 was first on scene, immediately followed by Rescue 5-16-1. SCPD called in the State to sand down the roads and for a wrecker to come to upright the vehicle. All units where cleared at 0442 hours and returned back to service.
