The Manorville Fire Department was activated to respond to a reported Vehicle Fire on Thursday, December 26th @ 1:59 PM. The fire was reported on the West Bound Lanes between exit 70 & 71. Suffolk County Police had already closed the west bound lanes so the Manorville FD could use the U-Turn just east of Exit 70 in order to drive towards the working vehicle fire in the west bound lanes. Manorville Engine 5-16-7 was first due, immediately pulling an 1" 3/4 line to extinguish the fire. Manorville Tanker 5-16-9, was 2nd due and provided additional water to engine 5-16-7. All units where released and back in service by 2:41 PM.
