On July 4th at 0313 Hours, The Manorville Fire Department was activated to respond to a house fire on Wading River Road in the vicinity of Beech Street and Oak Street. Upon arrival, 1st Assistant Chief Steel confirmed a fully involved house fire to the county dispatch. 2nd Assistant Chief Dahlem was 2nd on Scene. Engine 5-16-7 was the first engine on scene, stopped at the hydrant and stretched the 5" into the homes driveway. Engine 7 pulled the first line and also used the deck gun to knock down the large fire that already burned through the roof. Crews from Tanker 9, Engine 2 and Engine 3 arrived and all went right to work. Mutual Aid Departments from Center Moriches, East Moriches and Mastic where called to the Scene. Brookhaven Fire was called to standby at our HQ to cover any additional alarms. Manorville Ambulance was on scene as well as Shirley Ambulance for rehab. All Manorville units where released at about 0545 Hours. Brookhaven Fire Marshal and Suffolk Police Arson Squad remained on Scene.
