The Manorville Fire Department Junior Fire Fighter Program is an Explorer Post under the guildines of the Explorer Program with the Boy Scouts of America Organization. Exploring posts serve 14 - 20 year olds and are co-ed. You need to be at least 14 years of age in order to apply to our program. More details about the Explorer Program can be found at the Exploring for Life Web site at www.exploring.org . Our Junior Fire Fighter program is geared towards training youths to be ready to be able to join into the ranks of our Fire Department. We perform the same training as the department does, with 2 exceptions.. Explorers are not allowed to be in live fire situations and are not allowed to handle the "Jaws of Life" vehicle extication tools. Our program is a mirror of what our probahbtionary firemen need to complete in order to be full Class "A" firemen. You also need to live within the Manorville Fire District Protection area, or can reside just outside of our district lines. We will review this once you apply to ensure you live in the proper jursidiction. If you are under 18 years of age, parental permission is necessary and we will arrange to meet you in person, with your parent or parents to further review our program with you.
