On Saturday, February 19th, The Manorville Fire Department was activated to respond to Structure Fire at 55 Dogwood Lane in Greenwood Village @ 14:35 Hours. Chief Danowski (5-16-30) was first on scene and reported working structure fire. The houses in Greenwood Village are quite close together, so the fire spread to a 2nd house adjacent to 55 Dogwood. Engine 5-16-7 was first on scene, followed by Engine 5-16-2, then Tanker 5-16-9. The fire started by the car in the garage and quickly spread throughout the entire house. The Fire in house next door was contained to the outside and inside the garage only, not the entire house. Chief Danowski also activated East Moriches, Center Moriches FD's for assistance and for Eastport FD to stand by at our HQ to cover our district in case of another alarm. The Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshall's office was called to investigate the fire. One Manorville Firefighter was checked for smoke inhalation, but was fine. All Mutual aid was released and all Manorville Units where released and back in service at 17:37 Hours.
