Manorville FD Responds to a Motor Vehicle Accident

At 16:50 Hours on the 11th of August, Manorville FD Was activated to respond to a Motor Vehicle Accident on the East Bound Long Island Expressway between Exit 70 and 71. Initial reports where a single car with entrapment requiring extrication. Chief Danowski was first on scene and reported a confirmation extrication of 1 victim is required. The Vehicle was on sit's side, resting on a tree. Engine 5-16-2 was first Due, with Heavy Rescue 2nd Due. Engine 2, Captain McLean was directing the extrication operation. Crews from both trucks worked to extricate the one victim. Suffolk County ESU also responded and worked with the Manorville Crews to extricate the victim. Manorville Fire Police units 5-16-10 & 11, along with SCPD, kept the scene safe and had to close down the Long Island Expressway. SCPD Aviation landed the helicopter on the expressway, so the victim could be flown to Stony Brook University Hospital. Manorville Ambulance treated the patient once extricated and brought them to the helicopter. All Manorville Units where cleared from the alarm @ 1751 Hours.
