Manorville FD Responds to a Vehicle Fire

On Monday, July 26th @ 2042 Hours, Manorville FD was Activated to respond to a report of a Vehicle Fire. Assistant Chief Rosario was first on scene and reported a pick up truck fully involved in the driveway. Assistant Chief Rosario then reported to the incoming crews, the pick up truck has large amounts of chlorine stored in the bed of the truck. Engine 5-16-2 was first due and immediately stretched one hand line to start the extinguishment of the Fire. The crews also pulled a second line and used foam to help extinguish the fire. Units 5-16-3 and 5-16-1 arrived 2nd and 3rd due. The gas tank of the pickup truck ruptured and the gasoline fed the flames. The fire was finally extinguished and the Fire Marshall's office cleared the scene and all Manorville units where cleared from the Alarm @ 2248 hours.
