Manorville FD Responds to a Brush Fire

At 4:25 PM on Sunday, May 16th, Manorville FD was activated for a smoke investigation in the area of Connecticut Ave and Halsey Manor Road. The Manorville Chiefs and Brush Trucks all responded, but where not able to locate the source of the smoke in the area. Suffolk County PD Aviation was requested in order to help locate the fire. Aviation located the fire along Topping Path between Route 24 and Manorville Hills County Park, deep into the woods. The Manorville Brush trucks where guided into the woods via SCPD Aviation. Numerous additional mutual aid brush trucks where called in to assist. The fire burned approximately 12 acres of woods. All units where released at 10:08 PM.
