Manorville FD responds to a Reported House Fire

Besides being a very busy day with 5 calls for the Manorville FD, On Thursday December 10th at about 11:11PM the Manorville FD was in the process of taking up from a brush fire when they received an activation from FRES Dispatch for a report of a house fire at on South St off Weeks Ave. 2nd Assistant Chief Ceo was on scene the alarm. Dispatch advised the additional details for for smoke and flames visible and the caller was refusing to leave the home due to her cats being in the house. Units that where at the previous brush fire call, immediately responded to the reported structure firer. Engines 5-16-2 5-16-7, and 5-16-9 Responded. The crew from 5-16-GI3 went back to station 1 and picked up Ladder 5-16-6 to respond into the scene as per the chief. On arrival the chief found flames on the main floor and in the attic towards the rear of the house. PD advised that all occupants where out of the house by the time the chief arrived. The first due engine hit the hydrant and the crews from the engines stretched lines. Firefighters made an aggressive attack knocking the bulk of the fire down quickly. A small crew was sent to the roof to vent the home. Firefighters remained on scene for overhaul cooling down the hotspots found inside the walls behind by the chimney. Ridge FD was called to the scene for a RIT team, Center Moriches stood by at Manorville's HQ for any other alarms that may have come in while operating. A Fire Marshal was requested to the scene to investigate. Crews where released around 12:45AM.
