On Saturday, September 23rd, Manorville FD was activated to respond to a reported Basement Fire. County Dispatch advised caller stated Visible Smoke in the basement. One of Manorville's members was in the vicinity of the address dropping off his daughters, and quickly responded to the scene. The home owner was out side and explained to our member, he ran into the house and got some water to quickly extinguish the small appliance motor that was burning. SCPD and 2nd Assistant Chief Steel arrived confirming the fire. Chief Danowski arrived shortly afterwards. Engine 5-16-2 was first due, with 5-16-7 immediately following. 5-16-6 arrived 3rd due. Crew from Engine 2 brought extinguishers and fans to start the cleanup. Fans for all 3 Trucks where put into action. All Manorville Units where cleared and released back into service @ 15:07 Hours.
