Multiple fire departments responded to a brush fire Sunday afternoon in Manorville

The Manorville Fire Department was activated for a Brush Fire at 14:07 Hours on Sunday July 7th. The Location was Dispatched as Eastport Manor Road and Hot Water Street. The Fire was found in the woods within Manorville Hills County Park. The terrain in the woods was quite difficult and required numerous "Brush Trucks" from about a dozen or more Departments.

A Suffolk County Police Department helicopter was requested shortly after 2 p.m. to survey the fire’s direction and to assist the fire units on the ground.

Manorville Fire Department Chief Chris Lindberg said his crews where "nearing containment" around 4:30 p.m. Units where on scene until approximately 22:00 hours. A Suffolk County Bull Dozer was brought in to help clear a path in the woods around the location of the fire.
