On Tuesday, January 10th at 1930 Hours, The Manorville Fire Department was activated to respond to a reported structure fire on Primrose Path in Manorville. 2nd Assistant Chief Steel was first on scene and reported a working structure fire. Fire was visible on 3 of the 4 sides of the home. All occupants where safely out of the home. Chief Danowski was 2nd on scene, immediate followed by 1st Assistant Chief Rosario. Engine 5-16-2 was the first engine on scene and immediately stretched the first hand line. Tanker 5-16-9 was the 2nd truck on scene. This part of Manorville does not have any fire hydrants, so a tanker operation was setup with mutual aid tankers from Eastport, Riverhead, and Wadding River. Engine 5-16-2 was redirected to a well about 600 feet down the road from the fire building. Engine 5-17-6 and 5-16-3 arrived and water form both engines was also used to help feed the hand lines. Ladder 5-16-4 arrived on scene and was put into action for use of the Tower Ladder to help extinguish the fire. Numerous propane tanks where around the property. The fire also extended to a vehicle in the driveway. Ridge FD was called to standby at Manorville HQ in case of any additional calls came in. All units where cleared and returned back in service at 2240 Hours.
